Feijóo threatens to withdraw Spain from 2030 World Cup if final is held in Morocco
According to OKDIARIO and ElDesmarque, Alberto Núñez Feijóo has conditioned Spain's participation in the 2030 World Cup on hosting the final, as the Spanish press reports competition with Morocco.
Alberto Núñez Feijóo, candidate for the presidency of the Spanish government, has announced that he would withdraw Spain from hosting the 2030 World Cup if the final were not played in the country, according to OKDIARIO and ElDesmarque.
"If we do not host the final, we should not host it," he said, according to OKDIARIO. ElDesmarque specifies that he spoke on the show El Chiringuito, mentioning that Spain "should not participate" in that case.
This threat comes as Morocco is reportedly pressuring FIFA to obtain the final, according to El Español. The newspaper also indicates that the Spanish prime minister would not have obtained a guarantee that Spain would host the final, and that a government led by Feijóo could withdraw if it were awarded to Morocco.
