Ajax held by NEC, Feyenoord moves ahead
Ajax conceded a 1-1 draw against NEC, according to several Dutch media outlets. Feyenoord would take advantage, reports Mundo Deportivo.
Ajax dropped points again in the Eredivisie. According to Voetbalnieuws and Voetbalprimeur, the Amsterdam club were held to a 1-1 draw by NEC at the Johan Cruijff ArenA. Tolu Arokodare had opened the scoring, but Tjaronn Chery equalised from the penalty spot. Ajax then had several chances to regain the lead without succeeding.
According to Voetbalprimeur, NEC coach Dick Schreuder is satisfied with this point. He explains that his team often defended deep, work done in recent weeks.
According to Mundo Deportivo, this new slip-up would allow Feyenoord to move ahead of Ajax in the standings.
