CAF reportedly confirms return of Africa Cup of Nations every two years

According to RMC Sport, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) would have reversed its decision and confirmed the return of the Africa Cup of Nations to a biennial schedule. This information is also reported by 20 Minutes, which mentions a U-turn by the governing body and the official confirmation of the return to a tournament held every two years. Both media outlets thus agree on this calendar change, which comes after previous discussions and announcements. The CAF has not yet published an official statement on the matter, but the reported remarks suggest a concerted decision. The next editions of the competition could therefore take place more frequently, meeting the expectations of many observers.
