Bayern in Madrid: Olise and Neuer back in training ahead of Atlético clash
On the eve of their Champions League trip to Atlético Madrid, Bayern Munich have been joined in training by Michael Olise and Manuel Neuer, according to several German and Spanish media outlets.
Bayern Munich approach their trip to Madrid with a glimmer of hope. Michael Olise and Manuel Neuer took part in the final training session before the match against Atlético Madrid, scheduled at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano as part of the Champions League league phase, reports Europa Press.
A welcome return
According to kicker, both players were indeed present at Monday's training session. The Abendzeitung München confirms this information and notes that the Munich club is closely monitoring the condition of French forward Michael Olise's knee. The 24-year-old, whose participation was uncertain, nevertheless took part in this final rehearsal, the Munich daily stresses.
A depleted squad
The Spanish daily Mundo Deportivo reports that Neuer and Olise are on the list of a Bayern "diezmado", that is, decimated, for this European clash. The German side therefore travel with a reduced squad, without the report specifying the identity of the other absentees.
The match between Atlético Madrid and Bayern Munich will be played at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano, as Europa Press reminds us. The fixture is part of the new league phase format of the Champions League.
