Louis van Gaal believes that Manchester City's financial scandal contributed to his departure from Manchester United. RMC Sport reports his comments on the "decisive factor" in his sacking and the "consequences and suffering" linked to the rival club's fraud.

According to Transfermarkt, the 75-year-old Dutch coach considers that this scandal played a part in the "suffering" experienced around his dismissal. Soccernews specifies that, during the 2015/16 season, Manchester City had qualified for the Champions League while Van Gaal's team had missed out on that ticket, a decisive element in his departure.
