Van Dijk: “I am not valued at my true worth”

Virgil van Dijk believes he is not being valued at his true worth by the Dutch media, Voetbal International reports. The Oranje captain spoke before the match against Germany.

Virgil van Dijk used the Netherlands team's press conference before the Nations League match against Germany to discuss the lack of recognition towards him. According to Voetbal International, the Oranje captain criticised “nonsense in the media” and what he considers unfair treatment.

“I am not valued at my true worth,” Van Dijk said, quoted by Voetbalprimeur. The player also explained why he is continuing with the national team until Euro 2028, FCUpdate reports. In particular, he mentioned Xavi's role in his decision and the lack of confidence felt from the Netherlands.
