Udinese close to signing David Alaba after medical tests, reports say
David Alaba has arrived in Italy and undergone medical tests ahead of a surprise move to Udinese, according to Italian media reports.
David Alaba is on the verge of joining Udinese, with several Italian media outlets reporting that the defender has already arrived in the country and passed medical examinations.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the former Real Madrid and Bayern Munich player has already landed in Italy, with the newspaper describing the move as an immediate reality. TuttoMercatoWeb adds that Alaba has reached an agreement with the Friulian club and is already in the city, with everything ready for the surprise transfer.
Medical tests completed
Corriere dello Sport reports that the medical tests at Villa Stuart have confirmed the Austrian's good physical condition. The newspaper states that Alaba is expected to travel to Friuli in the coming hours to finalise the move.
La Gazzetta dello Sport also describes Udinese's defence as a "colabrodo" (sieve) and says the club has moved quickly to reinforce the back line with the signing of Alaba. The same source claims the player has already completed his medical visits.
Official announcement pending
Neither Udinese nor Alaba has made an official announcement yet. The reports are based on information from the Italian press, and the transfer has not been confirmed by the club.
If completed, the move would represent a major coup for Udinese, who are looking to strengthen their squad. Alaba, whose contract with Real Madrid runs until 2026, would bring considerable experience to the Serie A side.
