Dejan Kulusevski has taken an important step in his rehabilitation. The Swedish Tottenham Hotspur forward took part in a practice match during a training session, according to Voetbal International. It is his first involvement in a team exercise in over a year.

An absence of more than 500 days

The forward has not played since May 2025 due to a kneecap injury, according to Foot Mercato. He has undergone two surgeries and had not played since. Sports Mole mentions an absence of 515 days, while the Evening Standard speaks of a return after "500-day injury hell."

A gradual return

According to Voetbal International, Kulusevski has taken a first step in his recovery and can now look ahead again. The London club hosts Manchester United this weekend, and this return to training is described by Sports Mole as a "huge boost" for Tottenham ahead of that match.

The Evening Standard reports that the player has played his first match after that long absence, a step towards a return to the first team. The Dutch outlet specifies that the Swedish forward took part in a training session with his teammates, a first in over a year. This news comes as Tottenham, hit by injuries, hope to recover one of their attacking options for the end of the season.
