Sunderland seek talks with KNVB over Brobbey's international duty
Sunderland want to discuss Brian Brobbey's availability with the Dutch football association after the striker picked up an injury while on international duty, according to Dutch media.
Sunderland have requested talks with the KNVB over Brian Brobbey's participation in the upcoming international break, according to multiple Dutch outlets. The striker was injured while on duty with the Netherlands during the last international period and has barely featured for Sunderland since, reports Voetbal International.
Manager Régis Le Bris raised his concerns during a press conference ahead of the Premier League match against Coventry City, according to Voetbalnieuws. He wants to prevent players returning injured, including Brobbey, who recently made his comeback, adds Voetbalprimeur. Le Bris reportedly believes another call-up would be detrimental for both club and country, per Voetbalnieuws. The KNVB has noted Sunderland's request, reports FCUpdate.
