PSG rest Dembélé and Nuno Mendes for Le Mans clash
Paris Saint-Germain have confirmed that Ousmane Dembélé and Nuno Mendes will be rested for Saturday's Ligue 1 home game against Le Mans, according to multiple French media reports.
Paris Saint-Germain will be without two key players for their Ligue 1 match against Le Mans on Saturday evening at the Parc des Princes. According to L'Équipe, RMC Sport, Le Parisien and Le Figaro, Ousmane Dembélé and Nuno Mendes have been given rest and will not feature in the fixture.
Rest before Manchester City trip
The decision comes as PSG prepare for their upcoming Champions League trip to Manchester City. Foot National reports that the club announced both players would receive an additional rest period before that match. Italian outlet TuttoMercatoWeb also noted that PSG are beginning to manage the recovery of their key players.
No injury, just precaution
RMC Sport and So Foot both state that the duo are being rested rather than sidelined through injury. Maxifoot adds that Dembélé, aged 29, has made four Ligue 1 appearances this season. Portuguese media A Bola and Maisfutebol also highlighted that the club is saving the pair for the Champions League encounter.
Official confirmation
PSG have not issued a formal statement, but the widespread reports from multiple outlets indicate the decision is confirmed. The club will face Le Mans on Saturday, with kick-off scheduled for the evening.
