Paris Saint-Germain began their Champions League campaign with a 1-1 draw away to Real Madrid on Tuesday evening, according to L'Équipe, Sports.fr and other French media.
The Parisian side fell behind within the first two minutes of play in Madrid, as reported by So Foot. They showed character to come back and secure a valuable point, as L'Équipe and Sports.fr both noted.
A better start than last season
This result marks a clear improvement compared to the previous campaign. Foot Mercato recalls that PSG's women's team finished 17th, second from bottom in the Champions League group stage last season, and were determined to make amends this time around. So Foot also highlighted that this point is already better than what they managed in the whole of last season's competition.
A lively encounter
Foot National described the match as animated, with PSG conceding early but showing resilience to snatch the draw. The result leaves PSG with a point from their opening match of the new league-phase format of the Champions League.
What's next
PSG will now turn their attention to domestic duties. According to Le Figaro and Bola na Rede, Marseille host PSG this Sunday in the fifth round of Ligue 1, with the match broadcast on Sport TV 6 in Portugal.
