NBA star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander becomes investor in Atletico Madrid

According to multiple reports, NBA champion Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has invested in Atletico Madrid, becoming a shareholder of the Spanish club.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, two-time reigning NBA MVP and 2025 NBA champion, has become an investor in Atletico Madrid, according to several European media outlets. The club confirmed the news, reports kicker, while L'Équipe, Le Figaro, and ANSA also announced the move.

Europa Press reports that Gilgeous-Alexander decided to invest in the club, "identified with the values" of the red-and-white team, "such as ambition, excellence, and the conviction that every achievement must be earned with effort." The Spanish outlet did not specify the amount invested or the stake acquired.

Mundo Deportivo and t-online also reported the news, with the latter describing the NBA star as a new investor in the Madrid club.
