RC Lens beat Olympique Lyonnais 2-1 on Friday 9 October at Bollaert-Delelis, in the opening match of the sixth round of Ligue 1. According to L'Équipe, this win gives Lens coach Yannick Cahuzac his first success at the helm of the club. Le Figaro points out that it is also Lyon's first defeat of the season, as they were still unbeaten. Foot National confirms that Lens have brought down Lyon for the first time in the current campaign.
A successful first for Cahuzac
According to But Football Club, goals from Sotoca and Udol gave the Sang et Or the lead, before Merah pulled one back. The same outlet specifies that it is Lens's first win since the opening day. So Foot, for its part, mentions "the first win of the Cahuzac era" against Olympique Lyonnais.
A winning return home
Lens's success comes as Ligue 1 returns after the international break. William Tertrin, present at the Bollaert-Delelis stadium for But Football Club, notably published the ratings of the Lens players at the end of the match. The three outlets agree on the 2-1 scoreline and on the identity of the scorers, even if the order of events is only detailed by But Football Club.
