Joey Veerman returns to Netherlands squad with a "new beginning"

Several Dutch media outlets report that Joey Veerman is returning with the Oranje after two years away under Xavi Hernandez.

Joey Veerman is back with the Netherlands national team after two years away, according to several Dutch media outlets. The midfielder, who has found his place at Borussia Dortmund, is getting a new chance under Xavi Hernandez, according to Voetbalnieuws.

When questioned by De Telegraaf, Veerman said he was happy to be back and saw it as a "new beginning". He said "looking back makes no sense", as Voetbalprimeur also reported, adding that the player spoke in front of ESPN's camera.

According to AD, Veerman was not surprised by the call-up and is pleased to be back. He also talked about his first months in the Bundesliga and the differences with the Eredivisie, Voetbalprimeur added.
