Javier Aguirre has arrived in Valencia to coach the club, ElDesmarque reports. The Mexican coach said his decision to come was driven by the club's institution and history, Mundo Deportivo said. El Mundo described it as a new challenge for him, saying it was a good culmination to his career and that there were reasons to be optimistic.
ElDesmarque reported that Aguirre was already speaking as a Valencianist, wanting Mestalla to become a fortress again, and said he believed the squad had the quality needed not to suffer. Estadio Deportivo said he was signing until the end of the season, referring to the 31 matches remaining and his motivation, after he had considered retirement.
ElDesmarque added that the Mexican coach was going to Valencia with his wife's permission and without fear of the owner, whom he did not know.
