Grêmio qualified for Libertadores but threatened with relegation
Grêmio has qualified for the 2027 Copa Libertadores, but could lose that place if relegated, several Brazilian media report.
According to UOL Esporte, Grêmio has secured its place for the Copa Libertadores, but might not play the tournament. The club is indeed threatened with relegation in the Brazilian championship, which would make it lose its ticket.
According to Placar, Grêmio would be deprived of the continental competition if it finishes in the relegation zone (Z4), where it currently stands. The club would therefore remain under the threat of exclusion from the Libertadores.
Metrópoles explains that this qualification is linked to the Copa do Brasil final, which offers at least one place in the preliminary phase of the Libertadores.
