Fred reveals Palmeiras tried to sign him before his return to Atletico Mineiro

According to several Brazilian media outlets, midfielder Fred revealed that Palmeiras had attempted to sign him before he joined Atletico Mineiro.

Fred, Atletico Mineiro's midfielder, revealed that he was approached by Palmeiras before finalising his return to the club. According to Gazeta Esportiva, the former Fenerbahce player stated that Palmeiras president Leila Pereira wanted to sign him, but that his wish was to return to Atletico-MG. Terra also reports that Palmeiras attempted to recruit him, and that Fred had other options in Brazilian football before choosing Atletico. According to Metropoles, it was the player's agent who insisted on a deal with Palmeiras. The player confirmed the interest of the paulista club, according to Globo.
