A successor tipped for Paulo Fonseca
According to Record, Carlos Vicens, the SC Braga coach, is tipped to succeed Paulo Fonseca at the helm of Olympique Lyonnais. This information, reported by the Portuguese press, comes as Paulo Fonseca is reportedly close to joining Sporting, according to several media outlets.
A departure from Sporting in the background
The departure of Rui Borges from Sporting is being strongly suggested. According to RTP Desporto, Paulo Fonseca has gained ground in recent hours as the main candidate to take charge of the team. The same source indicates that the Portuguese coach would be the preferred choice of the club's management. However, Rui Borges' future remains uncertain, RTP Desporto reports.
The Thiago Motta track mentioned in France
The French press, cited by Bola na Rede, is already putting forward another name for the Lyon bench: Thiago Motta. Olympique Lyonnais has not yet made official a successor to Paulo Fonseca, and the Portuguese club Sporting has not confirmed the arrival of the latter either. The post-Paulo Fonseca saga at Lyon, with Carlos Vicens and Thiago Motta as options, could continue in the coming days, according to the Portuguese press.
