Cañizares pessimistic about 2030 World Cup final, says El Español

Former Spain goalkeeper Santi Cañizares believes Spain has no option for the 2030 World Cup final, according to El Español.

According to El Español, Santi Cañizares, former Valencia and Spain international, is pessimistic about the chances of Madrid or Barcelona hosting the 2030 World Cup final. "We are nobody, Spain is not Morocco. We have no option for the final," he said, as quoted by the Spanish outlet.

The daily adds that Morocco's hopes have grown in recent weeks, due to pressure exerted on FIFA for Casablanca to be chosen over Madrid. A political interest that could tip the scales, El Español notes.
