Atletico Madrid taunts Real Madrid over Valverde's recovery
Atletico Madrid has mocked Real Madrid on social media after the club confirmed Federico Valverde is fit to play, according to multiple reports.
Atletico Madrid has renewed its rivalry with Real Madrid on social media, this time mocking the recovery of Federico Valverde. According to RMC Sport, the club released an ironic statement titled "Miraculous recovery," criticizing Real Madrid over the midfielder's injury and his return to fitness.
AS reports that Atletico wrote: "The world medical community was wrong," while Bola na Rede quotes the club as saying: "They demonstrated that 100% of the world medical community was wrong." Terra adds that the provocation came after Real Madrid confirmed Valverde is available for the next match.
Foot Mercato notes that Atletico has not forgotten Real Madrid's criticism of refereeing after the derby three weeks ago, which may explain the tone of the post.
