Alberto Gilardino on the verge of becoming Parma's coach
According to several Italian media outlets, Alberto Gilardino is reportedly close to becoming Parma's new coach, following the split with Carlos Cuesta.
Alberto Gilardino is reportedly on the verge of becoming the new Parma coach. According to Tuttosport and TuttoMercatoWeb, an agreement has been reached between the club and the coach, who is expected in the city this evening to sign his contract. This agreement comes after Parma's parting of ways with Carlos Cuesta, reports TuttoMercatoWeb.
According to Tuttosport, Gilardino should first terminate his contract with his current club before committing to the Emilian club. The coach, who already wore Parma's colours as a player, would thus be Cuesta's successor, according to Calciomercato.com.
However, Corriere dello Sport and Calciomercato.it indicate that Gilardino would be in pole position, but that three other names are also being considered. Corriere dello Sport specifies that a new coach would be expected on the bench for the match against Inter at San Siro.
